Students from Jenkins County High School High Tech program visited the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport. The facility is a commercial and military-use airport that covers an area of 3,650 acres, with two concrete runways located in Savannah, Georgia.
The tour began in the upper level of the terminal then proceeded to the lower level. The students were able to see the baggage sorting area on the secured side of the terminal, Savannah Square, the tarmac, and the Airport Ticketing Lobby. They also witnessed a demonstration by the Airport Police and explosion specialist canine. The tour provided a close-up look at how Savannah/Hilton Head International operates, as well as useful traveling tips. Tour participants were able to see an airport in action. An overview of employment opportunities with the airport, restaurants, and shops were discussed, including how to complete the employment application. Comments are closed.
